At a special meeting held on December 5, the municipal council of the Town of Champdoré adopted the public safety plan ‘’Our Safety First“. Under the direction of the Public Safety Committee, the plan consists of four initiatives to increase safety in the town: awareness and direct support, Alliance Champdoré, intervention and collaboration, and advocacy.

Last October, the municipal council, through its public safety committee, decided to consult the population during an action session to answer a series of questions related to current issues in our region. A number of partners also attended the event to present their services. The What Was Said report, containing the participants’ comments and responses, was shared at the end of November, and the action plan was drafted with the goal of improving the safety and well-being of our citizens.

“The municipal council gives great importance on public safety and identified it as a priority in the 2024-2029 strategic plan. The municipality’s role is focused on prevention and raising awareness, while supporting the population in implementing good practices such as surveillance, mutual aid, communication and incident reporting,” explains Mayor Jean-Pierre Richard.
